Problem 21

Can someone explain how they got

-18 for the answer

# College Algebra Unit 1 homework

**wayslow55**#2

Here is how I got the answer. I solved the top part of the fraction 1st, then the bottom part. Finally multiplied by 6.

6* -8-4+(-4)-[-4-(-3)]/(4^2+3^2)/5

6* -8-4+(-4)-[-4+3]/(4^2+3^2)/5

6* -8-4+(-4)-[-1]/(4^2+3^2)/5

6* -8-4+(-4)+1/(4^2+3^2)/5

6* -8-4-4+1/(4^2+3^2)/5

6* -15/((16+9)/5)

6* -15/(25/5)

6* -15/5 = 6*-3 = -18

Thank you.

I was multiplying the 6 by the top and the bottom before i reduced the fraction
