Here are my 2.4 Chapter Exercises:
Jerold can either admit that he has been lying and tell the truth, or conceal the truth to improve his odds of winning the election. The speech in his right hand is clearly more ethical.
Intent: Jerold’s left hand speech intends to be deceptive, his right hand speech intends to be honest.
Means: Jerold’s left hand speech has bad means, while his left has good.
Ends: Jerold wants to win the election with his left hand speech, while he wants to be honest and rid himself of guilt with his right hand speech.
Jerold is not following the Credo rule of being honest with his left hand speech. He is also breaking the rule of not using deceptive means to win an audience over with that speech.
