I would
like to work in Australia. I could definitely see myself working in health
related work with different customer based projects with gyms and hospitals.

  1. What useful
employment resources and job leads did you find in your research for this unit?

  1. Based on your studies
in this unit, what words of advice would you offer to someone just starting out
    in a PR career?

I would tell them to take plenty of notes from whomever
they shadow. I also tell them to network within the firm as well as outside of
the firm to get information on good stories ad how to deal with types of
obstacles in PR. Last but not least I would recommend that they learn to cop
with stress well and keep an open mind to new advice from older people that
have been around working and to research your career as much as possible.

I would love to work in South Africa and PR projects i would to be involved would be with the health crisis over there with their youth and just helping anywhere needed. I believe the more representation they have over there and the more people can truly understand whats going on, good and bad, people would be more affectionate and willing to help out.

2) What useful employment resources and job leads did you find in your research for this unit?
That there is a lot more than what one would think than searching on google. Direct links can take and show a lot more. Google just has a broad range of EVERYTHING.

3) Based on your studies in this unit, what words of advice would you offer to someone just starting out in a PR career?
Start with an internship somewhere first to make sure this is what you want. Next, follow someone that knows what their doing and is showing strong passion for it. Make sure you are taking in the good with the bad. I would also suggest that you come up with your own plans when good and bad things happen. Last, build bridges with as many as possible because nowadays, knowing people plays a nice role in yo career.

Where in the world would you most like to work, and what kinds of public relations projects would you like to be involved with?
In the world would you most like to work in Developing countries with non-profit organizations. The public relations projects I would like to be involved with are those related to advocacy, social accountability and communications.

What useful employment resources and job leads did you find in your research for this unit?
I found social media like Facebook and LinkedIn as well as websites, print media, networking to be useful employment resources. Regarding job leads, I realised that training in PR, communications and media may help one develop PR skills and t they are by no means an essential requirement of securing a job in PR. One’s CV and covering letter are items that will determine whether one is shortlisted for interview.

Based on your studies in this unit, what words of advice would you offer to someone just starting out in a PR career?
I would advise someone just starting out in PR also to put effort in networking. Many times, even when we have the right skills and experience, we may not be able to get platforms or space where to demonstrate our PR competencies if we don’t have networks to access information and opportunities.
