Using Pomodoro Time was a challenge to me because I’m an individual that prefers to start a task and finish a task and then move onto the next. I don’t like working on one thing and then stopping and then doing something else and then stopping and doing something else. I find this method frustrating.
I’ve tried it out myself – I like it in principle, but having to set a timer again and again wound up being too much work. I like to decide what I’m going to do and know what I plan to do next, then do the first thing, take a little break, and embark on the next thing.
I do think a timer can help, though, to limit a task if it tends to expand beyond the time worth devoting to it, and I think building in breaks between focused work sessions is great.
