    The historical foundations of public relations apply in many ways. All one must do is turn on the locasl news or C.N.N. and we find broadcasters endeavoring into public relations. They presented the news so that people know about what is happening in the world. They try not to be too negative about situations but present the news in a positive light.
    The muckrakers in the article were often very critical of people so the conservatives tended to dislike them. The mining bosses thought they had it made until they realized that bad press would interfere with business. They had to call upon an experienced journalist named Ivy Lee. Public opinion was a relatively new concept and Lee could rally the public and save the mining industry. He was quite a yes man.

  2. How might the role of public relations fit within a larger marketing campaign?
    Public relations fit well inside the larger marketing campaign. Look at the Philadelphia Eagles. They won the Super Bowl for the first time in over 20 years. The quarterback was one of the best in the league. He was able to get the team organized and focused on winning the Super Bowl. Selling the t-shirts and hats with the Eagles name helped to promote the team to victory.

  3. How do you think developments in social media are impacting the field of public relations?
    Public relations are improving night and day. Every time Twitter improves their service, more things become available to the public. Some social media sites can filter communications by using a spam folder, notifications, and downloads.
